Sustainability

The Town Council would like Wokingham Town to be a sustainable community. To that end, we will seek to protect and enhance the town’s natural, built and cultural environments for all current and future residents and to deploy our personnel and financial resources sustainably.

To deliver on our sustainability principle, we have developed a 4 year action plan which focuses on the following areas: Transportation, Water, Energy, Waste, Environment.

Our plan includes direct work as well as work that can best be carried out in partnership with others. Click on a tab to find out about some of the work we are doing around the town.

There are many view points on sustainability and many ways in which issues can be tackled. We are continually educating ourselves and on our journey have come across the following links and podcasts which you may find interesting.
