It’s almost time for the biggest national event of the year which will see many borough residents and local communities throw street parties, decorate their homes with bunting and participate in various fun events to celebrate The Coronation of His Majesty The King.

Street parties are a great opportunity for communities to come together on national occasions. Wokingham Borough Council have already received a high volume of queries relating to the Coronation and how to apply for a street party. I am also pleased to confirm that there we will be providing this service – including the necessary traffic signs – at no cost to residents. Please note that cul-de-sacs and minor residential roads that have simple diversion routes will be considered for a road closure. However major routes, distributor roads or those being used as bus routes will not be considered for road closure.

There will be no cost for a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order to close a road for a Street Party on any day between 6th β€“ 8th May 2023.

The final day to apply is 16th April 2023.
