A copy of the original certificate (retained by REME) conferring freedom of the Town. Framed in a decorative acorn surround.

It reads:

Know all men by these presents that we the Mayor Councillors and Townspeople of the Town of Wokingham in recognition of the close ties of lasting friendship between our town and the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and of the most excellent civic link thus formed do hereby grant and confirm to

The Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers the status of Honorary Townspeople and the freedom of entry to the Town of Wokingham under arms and in full ceremonial.
