DescriptionThis work of the English Primitive School shows the Old Town Hall (Guildhall) before it was torn down and replaced with the current building. It also specifies the location of the old stocks.
This print is mentioned in the Reading Mercury newspaper of 6th February 1937 as follows: -
" At Thursday's meeting of Wokingham Town Council it was decided to thank Mr. A. T. Heelas for his offer of a print of the Market Place, showing the Old Town Hall and the old Rose Inn at Wokingham. The print is dated about 1750. The Mayor (Alderman F. J, Barrett presided."
